Here it is two years after the negative reviews were posted and hasn't been updated and does not reflect the status of the current iteration of this amazing piece of technology. I'll never forget seeing it sitting in its' acrylic showcase atop a pedestal rotating about like the KhooINoor Diamond, drawing awestruck gazes and gasps from the bug-eyed onlookers. I was at MacWorld when it was unvieled for the first time. P.S. I don't know what the N97 has to offer but by the time I get tired of this baby, I expect that there will be something even more impressive available. Now if only Amazon would update the reviews to reflect the true, current product it would be more accurate.
I have to say that I actually bought an iPhone and kept it for 3 days without breaking the seal on the box because I didn't want to pay AT&T the 20% restocking fee if I changed my mind. Leave it to Apple to be anal about something. I took it back and got a Blackberry Curve instead. I liked it and used it well for two years but wanted more. I've had the latest version of this phone now for 3 weeks and I'm SO glad I never got an iPhone. The screen is beautiful, the sound is unrivaled by anything as small and I think, personally, it's a better phone than the N96 mainly because the keyes are NOT flush with the case (I can feel them and know here my thumb/finger is on the keyes without looking). I haven't hit the wall yet with 8GB of onboard memory and the lack of a card slot is not worth an extra $300.
Most, if not all, of the negative reviews are outdated and have no relevance to the current offering. The N95s 8GB NAM (North American) phone is absolutely amazing and the evidence lives in the shelf life of the product. About the only thing negative I can say about this phone (other than lack of a card slot) is that I can't stop playing with it. I was immediately put off by what it DIDN'T have (user replaceable battery, no card slot) and the damned DRM. It's very user friendly and a pleasure to use.
When Amazon offered the N95 for $350 on Lightning Deal I decided to take the plunge knowing that it would only cost me postage to return it. The user interface is very intuitive. The sound is the best of any hand-held device on the market (by the opinion of cNet and others), the screen is crystal clear, the GPS works well and the service is included in the $20 ATT&T data plan and WLAN, WiFi and celll phone functions are the best I've ever experienced. THIS PHONE IS 3G ENABLED (and is ready for 3.5G, when that becomes available). Thanks for reading my review.
its been wih me for almost a year. its the more reliable phone in the world. even tho there is another one which is the N96 that has 16G instade of the 8GB, this one has not got that much of a difference.i love it. and its working perfectly. very strong produc.
I bought from Electronica Direct this item, they send me a N95-4 which cost 549$, but they charge me 644$, they didn't give a right answer, They offer the Intl. version and they send the US version, more cheaper, but they charge you the expensive one, that's a scam.DON'T BUY FROM ELECTRONICA DIRECT.
I bought this cell to use it in another country, and found it perfect, with all its features functioning perfectly.
